During the lockdown, the authorities are so stringent that 16.5 million people are confined to their houses. Citizens are having troubles as a result of the government’s tight stance and zero covid policy.
Stringent Zero Covid Policy in China
China is adhering to its policy of zero covid. To prevent the virus, stringent procedures such as lockdown, mass testing, quarantine, and border closure are used. People are not allowed to leave the house, and heavy fines and jail time are imposed to the violators. Despite China’s constraints, the rate of corona infection continues to rise. People are compelled to starve as a result of these draconian prohibitions.
Faster Outbreak than 2020 Wuhan Virus ; Ease of restrictions in some cities
Cases began to rise in China in March of this year, with the infection gaining traction in the country at a quicker rate than the initial outbreak in Wuhan in early 2020. During the early phases of the pandemic, Northeast Jilin province was severely impacted. Officials in Changchun and Jilin City, which have a combined population of more than 3.55 million people, announced on Thursday that the lockdown would be eased soon.
Infection Spreads to neighboring Taiwan
More than 10,000 cases of corona have been discovered in Taiwan for the first time in the last 24 hours. Taiwan’s government just chose to end its zero-covid policy, but it is now backfiring on them. Due to re emergence of virus, Taiwan has once again closed its borders and established rigorous quarantine procedures to reduce the number of infections.
