1)Chhena Poda 

Chhenapoda, also known as chenna (pronounced ch-nuh), is a traditional Odia sweet dish and also one of the famous foods of Odisha. The name chhena poda literally means soft (poda) chhenna or Chhenna. Chhenna is an unripened cheese made of milk and curdled with a neutral agent like lemon juice, citric acid,or baking soda. Chhenapoda is mostly served to mark auspicious occasions such as weddings and other celebrations by Hindus in Orissa. It is often given as Prasad at some places in Orissa during religious ceremonies.

2)Macha Ghanta

One of the most famous foods of odisha, Machha Ghanta is a thick fritter that’s made with various types of flours. The main ingredient is dried fish which is ground and mixed with gram flour to create a dough. The dough is then steamed and served on special occasions like Dussehra. They are highly addictive, so you might want to avoid them! You can also find them at some restaurants near you as they have become popular over time.

3) Dalma

Probably one of its most famous foods of Odisha, Dalma is a popular buttermilk flavored delicacy found in Odisha. This dish consists of steamed rice and dal (lentils) cooked together to create a delicious flavor that’s ideal for meal times. Dalma also has other variants like makai dalma which includes pumpkin and sesame seeds, chana dalma which includes chickpeas, rajgira chila dalma which includes cottage cheese with rice flour pancakes. 4) Pilaf

Pilaf is a famous dish of Odisha. There are different types of Pilaf available in Odia cuisine. But generally, it is prepared by sauteing rice with different spices. After sealing it with dough and steaming, it is then served along with broth or gravy, garnished with cashew nuts and raisins. Usually, Turmeric flavored pilaf or saffron pilaf is made during festivals as these give yellow color to curry as well as increase the appetite of guests. This type of pulao not only has a special taste but is also good for health due to the presence of Turmeric and Saffron in them.

5) Chakuli Pitha

Chakuli Pitha is a popular Odisha meal that is similar to a Dosa yet different. It’s made with a batter that’s made up of equal parts lentils (Urad Dal) and rice (soaked, ground and fermented for at least 5 hours). At times, black lentils (skinless) are substituted for Urad Dal. The batter is spread in a circular shape on a griddle or pan and cooked on both sides with mustard oil. Chakuli Pitha is softer than Dosa and has a thicker consistency.
